We are pleased to announce that we are adding a 3-Week Acrylic Experience to our courses!  Try a block of classes with the same medium, commencing on 23rd and 24th October 2025.  Join us for a relaxed and engaging three-week acrylic painting module designed to help you build skills, explore seasonal themes, and develop your own creative style. You’ll learn essential techniques like colour mixing, blending and layering techniques while gaining confidence through guided projects. Each session offers a warm, inclusive space to experiment and learn—perfect for beginners or returning artists seeking fresh inspiration. By the end, you’ll have a handful of thoughtful studies, a better grasp of the medium, and a clearer sense of where you’d like to take your work next.

What will I learn?

Over three weeks, you'll explore the vibrant possibilities of acrylic painting, learning how to mix colours, build layers, and create texture using a range of brushes and tools. You'll experiment with expressive mark-making, blending techniques, and composition, gaining confidence as you develop your own approach to this versatile medium. Each session offers structured exercises designed to build skills and spark creativity.
Whether you're new to acrylics or looking to refresh your skills, this short course offers a lively and supportive introduction to the medium. Each session includes group tuition, individual guidance, course notes, and all materials including paper and refreshments. For adults (over 18s) only.

Who is it for?

This 3-week Acrylic Experience is ideal for anyone curious about acrylic painting — from complete beginners who want to try the medium in a friendly, structured way, to returning artists looking for fresh inspiration, seasonal themes, and a short, focused block to rebuild confidence and develop their style.

What's provided?

What to bring?

About your tutors

"I graduated from Falmouth School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting, and I've spent over 26 years in mental health education as a Thrive Practitioner. I've also taught art at GCSE, A level and within FE colleges, which has strengthened my belief in how powerfully creativity supports wellbeing and self-expression. My own work is inspired by music, colour and the natural world, exploring rhythm and atmosphere through both observation and intuitive mark-making. Creativity, for me, is a way of connecting with others, and that belief shapes my teaching - supportive, expressive and grounded in helping people find resilience and balance."

“Art has been my whole life — which probably explains the paint on my shoes and the sketchbook in my shopping bag. Teaching is my way of passing on the passion. I don’t expect perfection, just a willingness to try and an openness to learning when things go sideways. My sessions are practical, relaxed, and occasionally interrupted by the sound of someone discovering that acrylic paint does, in fact, get everywhere. If you’re curious, you’re ready!”
